Sam Cook - Chief Officer

Sam started as Chief Officer in June 2022 and has worked in the voluntary sector in Salford for a number of years. Prior to joining as Chief Officer, Sam had been a Healthwatch Salford Board member since 2018.

Sam's role is to lead Healthwatch Salford in delivering it's mission to ensure the public's voice is heard and acted upon, thus demonstrating the patient experience informs the decisions made in the system.  Sam's role is to lead Healthwatch Salford strategically and operationally, on behalf of the Healthwatch Salford Board.

Sam is a proud Salford resident and has been nearly all her life. She lives here with her two children and two gerbils and her family are close by. 

In her spare time, Sam is a lover of all things retro/vintage and enjoys going to the theatre, having tread the boards many years ago in local amateur dramatics. 

Elyse Peacock - Operations Lead

Elyse is our Operations Lead and has worked for Healthwatch Salford since April 2019. In her role, Elyse is responsible for the leading on the feedback and signposting enquiries we receive, along with leading on the marketing and communications for Healthwatch Salford. Elyse has a keen interest in mental health and is qualified as a Level 5 Counsellor and Psychotherapist. In her spare time Elyse enjoys going for long walks (that end in a cosy pub) with her husband and their very energetic dog, Cedric.

Ali Macleod - Projects & Engagement Lead

Ali has been working part-time with Healthwatch Salford since November 2020, during which time she has been working on the following projects: working with Salford City Council on a large project looking at Equipment Services; working with the Northern Care Alliance on a large project looking at Home care services, and working on a project looking at young people’s mental health services. She has also worked on a national project with Healthwatch England on Adult Social Care focussing on putting a face to unmet needs. 

Outside of work, Ali is mum to 3 children, one of whom is in a wheelchair, and also helps care for her mum. She is passionate about using lived experience to improve services, and volunteers with the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing at the University of Bolton, working with student nurses to enable them to understand the patient experience.

In her free time, Ali likes to cycle and to sing, and is a member of a local choir.

Tandrima Mazumdar - Engagement Officer

Tandrima is our Engagement Officer and has been part of Salford’s voluntary and charity sector for many years. She has been successfully running HerStory, a community group in Salford, supporting migrant women’s mental health empowerment. She has been working alongside organisations and services in Salford affecting positive change in the Health & Social Care sector.

Tandrima’s role in Healthwatch Salford will be to connect and highlight diverse community issues around Health & Social care. She will bring in her lived experience to collaborate and connect with the partners and organisations. 

Tandrima is a registered Psychotherapist and mindfulness teacher, with a private practice focussed on recovering from trauma. She is currently researching barriers to mental health access faced by diverse communities for her Masters. 

Tandrima is a proud mother of two daughters and happily married. Her passion for reading, long walks, and creativity fills up her time outside work.
