Salford's carers emergency scheme has been updated and made simpler. It enables carers to plan how the person they care for will be supported if the carer has an emergency.

To coincide with the new Tobacco and Vapes Bill being introduced we developed this project to explore what the issues are around vaping amongst CYP in Salford and the impact that children/young people, parents/guardians, and school staff believed the new legislation would have.

Here at Healthwatch Salford, we are pleased to share that, following our recent reassessment, we have achieved national recognition for demonstrating our commitments to equality and diversity.

The prevalence of vaping amongst children and young people nationally has increased exponentially over the last few years, resulting in the new Tobacco and Vapes Bill which is to be introduced on June 1st 2025. Our latest project, The Vape Debate aims to determine the extent of vaping amongst children and young people in Salford, via anonymous surveys, for children, parents and teachers.

Each year, World Cancer Research Fund holds Cancer Prevention Action Week, which focuses on supporting and empowering the public to make changes to their daily habits, and that of their families, to reduce their risk of preventable cancers.

This year Children's Mental Health Week takes place from 3 February - 9 February.

Did you know Cervical Cancer can be prevented? We want as many people as possible to know how they can reduce the risk of disease and to educate others.

We are thrilled with this tremendous achievement which reflects all our hard work and determination on embedding FREDIE across our organisation.
